What We Believe

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of New Life Pentecostal Church of Ocala based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God’s Word

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word. It is true, unchanging, and our final authority for salvation and everyday Christian living. (See 2 Timothy 3:15–17)

God

There is only one God. He has revealed Himself as our Father, as the Son for our redemption, and as the Holy Spirit living within us. Jesus Christ is God made flesh — fully God and fully man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4–6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16)

Our Need for Salvation

All of us have sinned and are in need of salvation. As a church patterned after the book of Acts, we believe the Bible calls us to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (See Acts 2:38)

The Gospel

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel through repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (resurrection life). (See 1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Acts 2:4, 37–39; Romans 6:3–4)

Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to love God and love others. Our lives should reflect holiness both inside and out, and we should live with joy as we worship and follow Him. The gifts of the Spirit — including healing — are still alive and active in the church today. (See Mark 12:28–31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8–10)

Christ’s Return

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again to take His church home. In the end, there will be a resurrection and a final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, while the unrighteous will face eternal separation from God. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15)
